Happy 4th of July! Today as we celebrate our independence I have caught myself looking forward to the next 100 days and our family gaining our "independence" from unhealthy habits. I am excited for us to start this next chapter in our lives and anxious to start our challenge!
Challenge start date July 8th 2013.
The challenge: 100 days of eating real foods.
We are going to be doing an overhaul on our day to day eating! We will be cutting out all processed foods and adding lots of organic fruits, veggies, whole grains, organic and grass feed meats (in moderation) and organic dairy such as milk, yogurt, and cheese.
Easy boxed dinners and fast food will be cut completely out of our diets. (this to me is going to be the hardest, because there are days I just do NOT feel like cooking!) Along with refined grains, refined sugars and fried foods.
Along with our challenge to eat only real foods we will also be adding a weekly challenge. These weekly challenges will be just another factor in our journey together to find peace, health, and of course happiness.
Week 1 challenge: Twice per week family exercise. With our crazy schedules between work, sports, lessons, and what not, we find it hard to make the time to do things together as a family that is not rushed. Our first goal is to make it a PRIORITY! We would like to take a walk or bike ride together as a family at least twice per week. Although this might not sound like a big deal to some, for us we usually only have one or two evenings a week that we are all together as a family due to our work schedules. So this challenge is to help us make sure that we are making the most of those times that we do have together along with teaching our children that being active is a part of life and exercise can be fun!
